Tom Sweeney joined ACCSR in October 2010 as an Associate. After completing his Honors Degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex, Tom worked as Corporate Responsibility and Communications Executive for one of the UK’s leading online retailers where he produced their UN Global Compact ‘Communications on Progress’ report and established an employee volunteering program. Tom also worked closely with major UK charities in his role as CSR Consultant for an international law firm. He developed and implemented a new firm-wide CSR strategy and was responsible for communicating CSR activities to staff and media.
During his time as a volunteer conservation and charity worker in South Africa, Tom gained an appreciation and understanding of opportunities and challenges in connecting the corporate and community sectors and implemented community-based entrepreneurial strategies.
