Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue
The NSW Minerals Council has published the ACCSR report on the results of research we conducted on their behalf into community concerns about the cumulative impacts of coal mining in the Upper Hunter Valley.
The research is part of an industry initiative called the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue facilitated by the NSW Minerals Council (NSWMC) on behalf of the coal producers in the Upper Hunter Valley.
ACCSR was engaged by the NSWMC in 2010 to conduct a survey to understand community concerns regarding the cumulative impacts of mining in the Upper Hunter Valley. A total of 93 individual were interviewed representing the mining industry, the organised community and opinion-leaders in the Upper Hunter.

World Guide to CSR
New book!
The World Guide to CSR: A Country-by country analysis of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability is the first book to provide comparable national profiles that describe the evolution and practice of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) for nearly 60 countries.
Edited by Wayne Visser and Nick Tolhurst and published by Greenleaf Publishing (2010), the book is a quick reference guide to CSR in different regional and national contexts. The book is recommended for CSR professionals and researchers who wish to benchmark performance internationally, but find that country-specific CSR information is ad hoc, limited or non-existent. Even where national CSR research exists, it is often hidden in academic journals that practitioners cannot access or do not have the time or inclination to read.
The book is an edited volume, with expert contributors from around the world, all of whom have been screened and selected on the basis of their qualifications and experience in CSR. The chapter on Australia has been contributed by ACCSR’s Managing Director, Dr Leeora Black.
