- The Big 3: OECD Guidelines for Multinationals, GRI and ISO26000
Shaping the way we work
- A POWERFUL, PRACTICAL WORKSHOP facilitated by international sustainability expert,
Paul Hohnen
- LEARN how to apply international frameworks to enhance your sustainability
performance
- MASTER the ‘Big 3’ for success in corporate responsibility management
In their 2010 CSR reports, 95% of the DJSI Super Sector Leaders referenced the GRI framework. Fully 65% also referenced the UN Global Compact. A quarter of all companies listed on the FTSE4Good Global 100 referenced the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (MNEs).
Why, and even more importantly, how are these companies using these frameworks to improve their performance? How far is the 2010 ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Guidance Standard compatible with these other standards and what is its value?
In this one day workshop, ACCSR’s Senior International Associate Paul Hohnen, will work with participants in small groups in his characteristically humorous and engaging manner, to:
- Outline the main features of the GRI, the recently revised OECD MNE Guidelines,
and ISO 26000 - Describe their differences and complementary features
- Show how these leading frameworks are being used internationally
- Explain how to report effectively on your organisation’s application of these frameworks
- Stimulate discussion on the main CSR and sustainability issues for Australian companies
- Show how these frameworks can be used to address these issues
- Explore how Australian companies are using them and can derive maximum value
- Lead exercises in applying the frameworks to assist in strategy development, product innovation, performance management, and employee engagement
- Illustrate the role and value of these frameworks for building quality stakeholder relationships.
A former Australian diplomat living in Amsterdam, Paul is known internationally for his work in the CSR and sustainable development fields. He participated in the development of the ISO 26000 standard, contributed to the updated OECD Guidelines, and was a founding Director of the GRI. His widely read articles in Ethical Corporation and other publications on these frameworks have a reputation for containing the latest information and commentary on emerging trends.
